Who are we
Our history
1971: The Victoria Line was complete, the threepence piece ceased to become legal tender, and, most significantly of all, the Wyvern Theatre opened its doors! More than five decades later the theatre has established itself as one of the leading live entertainment venues in Wiltshire, welcoming thousands of customers through its doors every year.
The spacious auditorium boasts 635 seats, each designed to be no further than 70ft from the stage, so you're always in the heart of the action. The theatre offers a mixed programme of concerts, comedy, dance, drama, exhibitions, musical theatre, and local amateur productions.
Named after the mythical beast, similar to a dragon, which was once thought to be the emblem of the Kings of Wessex. The Wyvern Theatre is bursting with magic and escapism.

Volunteering
Our friendly team of volunteers help usher shows and assist the Front of House Team in a number of duties, including checking tickets and enhancing the customer experience. Our voluntary staff are very important to us and we value their help and support in providing our audience with the best possible service.
We have now reached capacity within our volunteer team, however, we will be re-opening our books towards the end of the year.
