Alumn X Pro

Delivered by The Orchard Theatre, Dartford Council & Pivotal Productions C.I.C.

Sponsored by Dartford councils, making memories, so is free for participants to attend

This event is aimed at those 18+ who have or are about to graduate from an HE performing arts institution to work with others in a creative way and connect and build an inclusive supportive network regardless of where you have trained.

It is produced to provide an environment for participants to engage with their own creative craft, develop professional creative practices with guidance from professional theatre practitioners and educational leaders.

Participants will be asked to select material, create staging and present a final showcase performance under the direction of the workshop facilitators, to be filmed in front of industry guests in a hybrid setting which will create show reel material to take away at the end of the week. Other resources such as photographs will also be shared for participants' social media and other promotional activity during tailored workshops integrated into the week, stimulating discussions and inspire working environments where support is given to healthy practices of mind and body.

Additionally, the course will be a chance to meet likeminded young people and connect with experienced professionals in a hybrid environment, where the aspiration is to foster a positive engaged community of artists, who provide support, guidance and mentorship from their own lived experiences and perspectives. Once connected, participants will be able to gain knowledge from a wider perspectives beyond that which is taught in the higher education environment and practical help and advice. For instance, how to book digs if on tour, what life on a cruise ship is really like, and what the differences are in open classes from the perspectives of current theatrical professionals.

Participants should leave feeling inspired, empowered, connected, informed and supported after this event. Taking away not only digital assets, but a sense of self, individual growth through creativity, and a collective support network; something usually lacking upon graduating college with their degree or diploma.
