We are proud to have a varied creative and exciting programme running at the Orchard Theatre, and we would love for you to get involved.
Summer Youth Project

Join us for our Summer Youth Project! Calling all young performers aged 9 - 19 and young technicians aged 16 - 19.

Audition for your chance to take part in a fantastic fortnight in August. Spend a fortnight working with a director, choreographer and musical director to learn the show and perform on stage for 4 shows!

Ukulele club
Learn to play the ukulele
Always wanted to try something new? Join one of our most popular weekly clubs and start playing the ukulele in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Led by a dedicated ukulele teacher and open to all levels, from complete beginners to confident players.
Thursdays Open Jam (all levels): 10am – 11am Lesson (all levels): 11am – 1pm
Ukuleles are provided for beginners or feel free to bring your own. Includes a tea break with a hot drink and biscuits.
£7.50 per session, pay on arrival. First session free.

Orchard Theatre Choir
Learn to sing with the Orchard Theatre Choir
Join a friendly daytime choir led by a professional Music Director and raise your voice with others as you learn songs from popular music and West End shows.
Tuesdays: 10am – 12pm at Acacia Sports Hall (upstairs, accessed via 20 steps).
Includes a tea break with a hot drink and biscuits.
No need to register, just turn up. £7.50 per session, pay on arrival. First session free.
Gardening club
Have you got green fingers? Enquire about joining up and digging in!
Gardening Club is a friendly group that volunteers to keep the grounds around The Orchard Theatre beautiful and weed-free. We meet every Tuesday to weed, water, plant and prune then relax with a cup of tea to enjoy the fruits of our labour.
Includes a tea break with hot drink and biscuits.

Chair Fit
A gentle, accessible exercise class designed to help improve strength, mobility and balance in a supportive setting. Suitable for all abilities.
Mondays, 10.15am – 11.30am
Each session includes the exercise class followed by tea, coffee and time for a chat.

Community Fair
Discover and support local makers, bakers, artists, service providers and small businesses at our friendly monthly fair.
Browse crafts, gifts, sweet treats, pre-loved clothing, collectables, wellbeing therapies, workshops and advisory services. Enjoy community performances and open mic sessions throughout the day.
Interested in trading at the fair? We welcome applications from local stallholders who would like to showcase their products or services.
Saturdays, 10am – 2pm Acacia Sports Hall Monthly dates available in What’s On

Baby Concert
Join Barry de Jager for a lively, interactive music session designed especially for babies and their grown-ups. Expect singing, movement and plenty of fun in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Taking place at Acacia Sports Hall as part of our Community Fair.
First Saturday of the month 10.00am – 11.00am (includes a 15-minute break)
Suitable for babies aged 0–2 years.
Just bring your little one and enjoy the experience together. For more information contact us.
