We are excited to share that a major piece of our infrastructure puzzle has been put into place! Our new, high-capacity generator, the PHG275Vo, has officially arrived at The Orchard Theatre. This powerhouse is designed to ensure that even during a total power outage, our vital safety systems remain fully operational. Weighing in at nearly 3.8 tonnes when fueled, the unit was expertly craned into position by a specialist team. To put its capability into perspective, while a standard family car holds about 60 litres of fuel, this generator houses a massive 600-litre tank, allowing it to run continuously for up to 14 hours at full capacity.

This installation is a key part of our commitment to the theatre's future and the safety of our patrons and staff. By investing in this robust Volvo-powered system, we are ensuring that The Orchard Theatre remains a safe, resilient space, no matter what the external conditions might be. It’s more than just a piece of machinery; it’s our safety net that works behind the scenes, so the show can always go on with total peace of mind.
