The Orchard Theatre has officially launched a nationwide search for a visionary Buildings and Technical Manager to lead the venue into its highly anticipated grand reopening this December.
This rare senior management role offers an extraordinary opportunity to shape a lasting legacy in the community, bringing a much-loved regional cultural hub back to life. The incoming manager will inherit a beautifully upgraded, state-of-the-art infrastructure, backed by the industry-leading Trafalgar Theatres network.
A Cutting-Edge Playbook
The successful candidate will have the unique privilege of working with and overseeing brand-new, top-tier systems across lighting, sound, stage engineering, and communications. Key responsibilities will include:
Operational Leadership: Guiding an exceptional, collaborative technical team and managing production requirements for incoming shows—including the theatre’s legendary annual pantomime.
Capital Project Oversight: Ensuring top-notch health and safety compliance and managing future works for the venue.

Could It Be You?
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in technical theatre management or a senior technical role, with strong skills in building maintenance, health and safety, and team leadership.
