Lunchtime Concerts: Ahmed Dickinson

Join internationally acclaimed Cuban guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas for an intimate and expressive solo recital, featuring a vibrant programme that bridges cultures, eras, and musical identities. In Portraits for Guitar, Dickinson showcases music that is rich in character and storytelling, from contemporary Cuban soundscapes to evocative Caribbean miniatures. 

The programme includes Walfrido Domínguez’s atmospheric Cuaderno de Viaje No. 5, a suite of travel-inspired vignettes, alongside the rhythmically vibrant works of Flores Chaviano. Trinidadian composer Dominique Le Gendre offers reflective musical portraits, while British composer Stephen Goss provides a modern sonatina infused with the spirit of London’s ever-changing cityscape.
