Join London Mozart Players (LMP) for an evening of classical music’s big hitters as they prove that some things are popular for a reason.
Staying true to their name, LMP open the concert with Mozart’s well-loved Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. Written towards the end of the composer’s short 35-year-long life, Eine Kleine has become a staple of classical music repertoire, popping up all over the place from the concert hall to adverts on the TV.
There’s something for the Romantic fans, too; Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings appeals to the hopeless romantic in all of us, oozing with luscious string melodies and beautiful harmonies. Even the composer himself said he was ‘passionately in love’ with the piece.
Rounding off the evening is Vivaldi’s Four Seasons - a composition which seems to have it all. From the upbeat joy of a fresh Spring day to the blazing fury of a thunderstorm in Summer, Vivaldi’s masterpiece has entertained classical music lovers for centuries.
