Backstage Youth Theatre

Are you interested in theatre and have a passion for all things backstage? Are you aged between 14–19? Then our Backstage Youth Theatre programme could be for you! Wycombe Swan’s Backstage Youth Theatre programme is launching in the Autumn Term 2024, and we’re looking for young people keen to take part and learn more about what goes on behind the curtain at a theatre performance.

Our Backstage Youth Theatre offers an exciting opportunity to develop a range of skills, learn from top industry professionals about sound, lighting, stage management, pyrotechnics, and more.

Workshops take place on Mondays during the term, 6pm-8.30pm. During the workshops you will explore the behind-the-scenes elements of theatre through demonstrations and practical activities. This is a programme for anyone with limited experience in backstage theatre and interested tasters of all areas backstage work.

When: Mondays during term-time

Time: 6pm – 8.30pm Fee (full term): £100 Location: Wycombe Swan Theatre, HP11 2XE Term Dates September: 16, 23, 30 October: 7, 21 November: 4, 11, 18 Bursaries and Reduced Rates

We have tried to make this project as reasonably priced as possible to allow wider access. However, it is our belief that the arts are for everyone, and that no young person should miss out due to financial constraints. For this reason, we offer free bursaries and some reduced rates so that anybody can take part. If you would like to apply for a bursary, please contact [email protected]

Prefer being on stage? Check our What’s On page to sign up for our weekly Youth Theatre!
