Young Frankenstein is a new musical comedy based on Mel Brooks' 1974 Oscar-nominated film of the same name (which starred Hollywood legend Gene Wilder). It is a re-imagining of Mary Shelley’s classic which sees Victor Frankenstein's grandson inherit his infamous legacy and is a tongue in cheek parody of the classic Universal horror genre. When Frederick Frankenstein arrives in Transylvania Heights, he must decide whether to distance himself from Victor's tortured past or to continue with his grandfather’s wacky experiments in the castle laboratory alongside a cast of colourful comic-characters.
Young Frankenstein is packed full of toe-tapping songs including most famously Irving Berlin’s Puttin' on the Ritz along with a whole-host of brand new numbers. With a script and score by the legendary Comedian Mel Brooks, Young Frankenstein was created for the Broadway stage by the team behind the smash-hit musical The Producers and promises to be a must see this Halloween!
