The comedy podcast that takes history seriously is going on tour!
Hosted by You’re Dead to Me presenter, Greg Jenner, with comedian Catherine Bohart and historian Dr Steve Kershaw – the live tour brings this hit BBC Radio 4 podcast to the stage. Each night follows the show’s much-loved format, pairing an expert historian with a comedy guest to uncover the past through rigorous scholarship and laugh-out-loud humour.
McQueen, Hamilton, Skarsgard… all surely seething with envy that Alexander the Great, creator of one of the ancient world’s largest empires, grabbed the mighty epithet first. On the podcast’s very first tour, Greg Jenner is joined by expert academics and comedy guests to get to know one of the most famous conquerors of all time, and the OG inspo for some of the most infamous political rulers in history, from Julius Caesar to Napoleon Bonaparte. Known for his military genius and his very special horse—which led him to conquer half the world before dying before his 33rd birthday—and less known for his fighty Dad, scheming Mum and murderous wife, join the You’re Dead to Me gang as we dig deeper into how Alexander did it all, what drove him to greatness… and whether he really was that great after all?
Blending expert knowledge with comedic flair, You’re Dead to Me has become a standout in the podcast world. Now curious minds can experience this smart, funny night out in person.
Dr Steve Kershaw is an Ancient Historian whose lifelong interest in the Ancient Greeks has led him to a long career as a tutor and lecturer for a variety of organisations, including Oxford University and the V&A, as well as appearances as an expert contributor for many TV and radio programmes, including You’re Dead to Me episodes on the legend of Atlantis! His publications cover the history and culture of Greece and Rome, and include Mythologica, his chart-topping children’s book on Greek mythology.
Catherine Bohart's most recent live show, Again With Feelings, was nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2024 and received five stars from The Guardian in its opening 2 weeks. The Special is available on YouTube and her previous show, Immaculate, is available to view as a stand-up special on Amazon Prime UK.
Catherine Bohart's broadcasting career is rapidly on the rise, with credits including Live at the Apollo, The Last Leg, QI, and Strictly: It Takes 2. In 2024, she filmed LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland for worldwide release on Amazon Prime.
