Get in touchThe Northern Regional Final of the National Youth Monologues 2026 brings together outstanding young performers from across the region, selected from nearly 4,000 entries nationwide. The event showcases a wide range of monologues across four categories and age groups, celebrating the creativity, skill and individuality of the next generation of actors. Finalists will perform live in front of an audience as they compete for a place in the National Final in June. Alongside the performances, the event will also include a presentation recognising those whose work was commended by our judges, making this a celebration of exceptional young talent and achievement in solo performance.
The National Youth Monologues is a UK-wide performance platform for young actors aged 9–19, created to provide accessible, high-quality opportunities for solo performance. Open to entrants from all backgrounds, the competition brings together students from schools, youth theatres and independent pathways, offering a structured route from initial entry through to regional and national finals. Supported by leading organisations including Trafalgar Entertainment, Trafalgar Trust, Methuen Drama and the Federation of Drama Schools, the National Youth Monologues champions emerging talent and aims to remove barriers to participation in the performing arts. Following a successful launch, the competition has grown rapidly, attracting thousands of entries and establishing itself as a significant new platform for young performers across the UK and beyond.
