Crewe Lyceum Theatre has partnered with Visyon, a local mental health charity that supports the emotional well-being of children, young people, and their families in Cheshire East, to offer a well-being peer support programme for young people aged 12-16 (funded by Cheshire East Council). The programme, Creative Connections, will give young people the opportunity to be involved in a variety of creative activities such as visual art, music, theatre, and creative writing. We know that being involved in the creative arts can enhance well-being, boost confidence and build resilience to cope with life’s stresses. It may be particularly beneficial for young people who are looking to increase their social connections and to learn new skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to earn a Discover Arts Award qualification while learning about mental health and overall well-being. Sessions will be held weekly on Mondays from 4pm to 5:30pm in our Studio Theatre. Join us on Monday, 9th September 2024, for an information and drop-in session for young people, families, and organisations interested in promoting and referring to the programme. Group 1: Monday 16th September 2024– Monday 25th November 2024 (no session on Monday 28th Oct) Group 2: Monday 6th January 2025 – Monday 3rd March 2025 (no session on Monday 17th Feb) Group 3: Monday 10th March 2025 – Monday 28th April 2025 (no session on Monday 21st April) To sign up please click here: https://forms.office.com/e/DA440x323Y
