It is perfect for a wide range of special functions from a boardroom meeting for 10, a dinner dance for 600 or a conference for 1,630.
The Cliffs Pavilion has dramatic, fantastic views across the Thames Estuary ... a great place to entertain. The Palace Theatre has been bringing the magic of the stage to Southend since 1912 when it opened as the “Palace of Varieties”. This theatre is a little bit of West End glamour in the heart of Essex.
We can hold a meeting from everything from 20 guests to 1,600 guests.
Whether it is a team building exercise down on the beach with refreshments followed by lunch in one of our function rooms, a corporate BBQ to entertain your clients or a drinks reception before a show, we have something for everyone. Spaces
Our first class event team with fully qualified technicians will ensure your bespoke event runs smoothly. For larger events the entire theatre can be available for hire.
Maritime Room
This popular and flexible space lends itself to all layouts including theatre style, boardroom, horse-shoe and banquet. With excellent sound and lighting facilities the Maritime Room is self-contained with its own large bar, patio area and toilets. This contemporary meeting and events room has bi-fold doors that open up onto the patio area overlooking the estuary and is perfect for presentations, conferences, training seminars and away days. The Maritime Room is also available for private parties and functions of up to 300 people.
Admirals Room
Located next to the Maritime Room is our smallest room available and is perfect for more intimate corporate meetings and training seminars. The Admirals Room may be used by itself or in combination with another room to enable, for example, breakout sessions and the ability to provide catering and refreshments separately from the main venue.
Pavilion Restaurant
The Pavilion Restaurant is on the top floor with views over the estuary and is a bright, modern space. It can be hired for exclusive use and is an ideal space for both informal and formal events including drinks receptions, business meetings, launch events, private parties and private dining.
Auditorium at the Cliffs Pavilion
The Auditorium is a unique, flexible space with in house AV and sound facilities. It has a seated capacity of up to 1630 delegates/guests, and hold a banquet for up 600 people, hosting large conferences, product launches, awards ceremonies, presentations and celebrations.

Bars
Offering an extensive range of beers, wines and spirits, we can set you up with an account behind the bar, a cash bar, or combination of both. We can also arrange welcome drinks or cocktails to start your evening off in style.
Please note we can only offer a cold buffet as a food offering for events at the Palace Theatre. Please also note there is only the Dixon Studio, main auditorium and foyer available to hire at the Palace, subject to availability.
