We’re beating the winter blues with another stellar sunny line up of the best comedians from the UK comedy circuit. This months fireside crackers are Katherine Mather, Eric Rushton, Dave Williams and held together by MC Al Stevenson. Do note that lines ups are subject to change. Al Stevenson is the quick-witted, sharp-tongued lad of Newcastle! His charm allows him to tear through audiences with rapid fire, all whilst getting away with it through a cheeky grin. His talents have been described as “relentlessly hilarious” (Carl Hutchinson) with a “magnetic aura” (Crissy Rock) which have seen him rise to the finals of Beat The Frog World Series, beating hundreds of acts to do so, and to host and headline prestigious venues such as The Stand Comedy Clubs. “Al Stevenson combines the blunt double-entendres of Julian Clary with the bored, world-weariness of Jo Brand.” – Chortle The ultra-cynical Kathryn Mather used to be a children’s entertainer, and now seems to relish the chance to explore darker thoughts her old job would never allow. This Rochdale comic won the Frog and Bucket World Series 2017 and South East New Comedian of the Year 2018 and was placed third in the Leicester Mercury 2019. Described as “dark sharp and largely unprintable” by The Oxford Times, and “a revelation” by The Wee Review. “Wickedly accomplished… a thrilling rhythm and seamless flow… and the gags come at such a relentless rate. Mather positively revels in the macabre with a playful zeal” Rolling Stone “Very funny with a distinctive comic voice” – Nish Kumar “A fantastic mix of dark humour and funny storytelling. The audience were crying” - Russell Kane Dave Williams Dave has been a full time comedian since 1998, and whilst he isn’t famous, nor has he starved to death, so me must be Ok at it. He is a well-travelled comedian and MC who works regularly for the major players including Comedy Store, Frog and Bucket, Mandord's Comedy Clubs, ROFL. He has gigged in Australia, UAE and Asia. "A fine original comic mind, always surprising the audience with his wit." Edinburgh Evening News "Inspired one-liners punctuated with surreal nonsense." Manchester Evening News Eric Rushton Since his comedy debut in 2014, Eric Rushton has been mixing with the best newcomers on the comedy scene, and impressing audiences with his intelligent, playful material and likeable, self-deprecating stage persona. In January 2020 he won the prestigious 'Leicester Mercury Comedian of The Year' award - an award that was previously won by the likes of Romesh Ranganathan, Jason Manford and Jonny Vegas on their way to stardom. Before that he was a Chortle Student finalist in 2016 and So You Think You're Funny? finalist 2017. He is a regular performer at the UK's biggest comedy clubs and festivals (or at least he was before it was all cancelled). He is a regular performer at the UK's biggest comedy clubs and festivals.
