Turkish violinist Deniz Şensoy celebrates her beloved instrument through pieces from Bach to contemporary Turkish composer Fazil Say.
Born in 2000, Şensoy made her violin solo debut at the age of 8 with the Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra. Now an internationally recognised artist, she has performed from Argentina to Vietnam, with performances in the UK including Bruch’s Violin Concerto at Cadogan Hall, and at the Royal Albert Hall celebrating Maxim Vengerov’s 40-year stage career.
A thrilling addition to our lunchtime concert series, Deniz explores the beauty of Bach, alongside Cleopatra, Fazil Say’s violinistically demanding work that makes use of modern playing techniques, with Arabian sounds in varied rhythmic patterns.
This season we are delighted to welcome Magic Classical as our media partner for the Guildford International Concert Season, and are proud to introduce The Cheryl King Trust as our charity partner.
Please note: For the enjoyment of all those attending, and in respect of those performing, please note that latecomers will not be admitted until the end of a work. Similarly, should you need to leave the auditorium during the concert, re-admittance will also be at the end of the work. For clarity, latecomers and re-admittance is not permitted between movements.
