Course dates Monday 2 June - Monday 7 July 2025
Showcase performance: Saturday 12 July 8pm – 10.30pm
Over six sessions this course will guide you through writing your first five minutes of material, culminating in a live comedy showcase for friends and family at the end of the course. Stand-Up Comedy for Beginners is for those who have never done stand-up before, as well as new comedians hoping to hone their five-minute act.
Our workshop sessions will help you uncover your unique comic voice, reveal the techniques, and exercises professional comedians use to generate jokes, and coach you in performance skills.
Whether you dream of being the next Kevin Hart or Katherine Ryan, want to boost your gag ratio for a best man speech, or hope to gain in confidence with public speaking – this course takes a supportive and friendly approach to the art of making people laugh.
